If you can click a mouse, you can use Movix. No additional software or technical knowledge required.
Click the button below (or visit the Chrome Web Store) and click "Add to Chrome." Confirm the installation when prompted.
Click the puzzle piece icon (🧩) in Chrome's toolbar, find Movix in the list, and click the pin icon to keep it visible. This makes it easy to access Movix on any page.
Navigate to a website with publicly accessible video content. Movix automatically detects available media in the background. When content is found, a number appears on the Movix icon.
Click the Movix extension icon in your toolbar. A popup appears showing all detected media files on the current page, with format, size, and quality information.
Find the file you want and click the download button. The file saves directly to your browser's default download location.
Some websites use streaming technology (HLS). Movix handles this automatically — it downloads all segments and merges them into a single MP4 file. A progress page opens in a new tab showing the download status.
Clip Save lets you extract a specific segment from a longer video. Instead of downloading a 2-hour lecture, save just the 10-minute section you need.
In the Movix popup, toggle the Clip Save switch. Set your start time and end time, then click save. Only the selected segment downloads.
Visit the pricing page and choose Basic or Pro. After payment, you receive a license key by email within minutes — automatically, no manual approval needed.
Open the Movix popup, click the settings/license area, and paste your license key. Your plan activates immediately — full speed, no popups, expanded daily limits.
Try refreshing the page, or play the video for a few seconds. Some sites require playback to start before media is detectable. If it still doesn't work, the site may use DRM protection — Movix cannot access DRM-protected content by design.
Download speed depends on your internet connection and the source server. During Phase 2 or Phase 3 of the free tier, speed is intentionally reduced — upgrade to a paid plan for unlimited speed.
